An estate made early 19th C. Painted Pine Bacon Rack with original paint finish.  Bacon or meat racks hung from the ceiling or beams in front of fire hearths and large hooks were added to the rungs on which would have hung herbs, strings of onions and meat which would have dried by the heat of the wood fires.  These hanging racks also kept vermin away from the meats.

These are still useful pieces for a large country style kitchen today and are used to hang cooking pans etc. from.

This will require new ropes/chains to suspend.
