A large Victorian Milk Pail with brass handle an hinge.  These were once supplied by dairies so people could collect their milk and cream and quite often they would be stamped with the name of the supplier and also the address of the customer.
 
With wear etc. as would be expected from age and use and with some damage to the back brass clip and some holes to the bottom edge of the front of the pail
