A late Victorian 1 Pint Dairy Milk/Cream Pail with brass handle an hinge.  These were once supplied by dairies so people could collect their milk and cream and quite often they would be stamped with the name of the supplier and also the address of the customer.
This one has a brass label on front of the supplier G.P.WILLIAMS, THE EIFION HARDWARE STORES, CRICCIETH.
 
With wear etc. as would be expected from age and use and with the odd dint etc.  The lid still closes snugly.
