A late Victorian 1 Pint Dairy Milk/Cream Pail with brass handle an hinge.  These were once supplied by dairies so people could collect their milk and cream and quite often they would be stamped with the name of the supplier and also the address of the customer.
This one is stamped on the lid AYLESBURY DY.CO.LD and also stamped on the front 251 HIGH ROAD CHISWICK
 
With wear etc. as would be expected from age and use and with the odd dint etc.  The lid still closes snugly.
