A late Victorian 2 Pint Dairy Milk Pail with brass handle an hinge.  These were once supplied by dairies so people could collect their milk and cream and quite often they would be stamped with the name of the supplier and also the address of the customer.
This one is stamped on the lid JOSEPH HUNT and 331 SPRING ROAD IPSWICH on the front.
 
With wear etc. as would be expected from age and use and with the odd dint etc. and some damage to the hinge on one side. The lid still closes snugly.
